Okay, you asked for it...

I sang the Life of the Party. Very easy, very simple. Even I could play the piano part. So, I said...Ok, maybe it's not that well-known, so the accompianist might not know it, but atleast it's not like those million "On My Own"s out there.

Dancing..was okay. I think I could've done better with more practice (we learned it in like...5 minutes This..huge...64 beat..monster). But I wasn't BAD.

So we waltz over to the singing portion of the audition. I hand the music to the nice accompianist lady, explain the tempo, point out the repeat at the beginning of the song, point out the pause, do everything that I should do as a good auditionee.

Well, she starts playing. Good tempo. Little fast, but I'd live. When I start singing, something sounds wrong though. When I realize WHAT'S wrong, I realize she skipped over the repeat. The repeat that I specifically pointed out and the repeat that basically settles whether or not the singer and the piano are in harmony with each other.

She finds her place around "I don't need a new career", which is only a few bars ahead, but it seemed like forever. I'm all nervous and flustered, because if I were listening to it, I'd cringe. A lot. There was so much dissonance in the air. The first "obstacle" that I have to overcome is the "Only want the game/Point me to the mic..." and I totally conquered belting that C.

HOWEVER, since I was nervous because it sounded so horrible, I completely lost my breath. My crescendo from "game" to "point" was okay, however, the C on point became a very noticeable shout. With no particular pitch. And it all just went downhill from there. Vocally. They stopped me around "Don't you wanna land the role...", which is only a few bars before where I originally wanted to stop.

The reactions I got from the two auditors didn't seem bad, though. The guy was sort of bouncing along to the tune and smiling, and the woman...I donno. She seemed very intent on taking notes, but she didn't have a disgusted look on her face or anything. I'm sort of there, bobbing along and trying to hold everything together. Ugh. It was soo bad. Hopefully they'll realize that I can indeed belt to that C and can go higher by using my mix voice and that I really want to play Amneris and that it was ALL THE LADY'S FAULT!

Yeah! I noticed! I just felt like putting Sherie Rene Scott in there one time, and it hit! Then I saw the cast list and almost DIED! I love that slide with Lisa Kudrow and Sherie Rene Scott. Sherie definitely just steals all the glory.
