Has anyone seen this movie? It's starring Molly Shannon and it's a dark/comedy drama about a woman who's dog tragically dies and how she deals with that loss and what it spirals into.
I saw it over the weekend with a friend and we both didn't like it. I suppose it was a "dark comedy" though there were very few scenes that were genuinely funny and more along the lines of, "I'm laughing because I feel terribly awkward...".
I've heard mixed reviews though, some people do enjoy it so I'd love to hear what other people here have to say.
As someone who works with dogs professionally, is a vegan, and involved with animal rights activists I couldn't stand how stereotyped they made everyone in this movie. Though, I was discussing this with a friend who is a big animal rights activist and has yet to see the movie and someone she knows (also an activist) LOVED the film. So after giving it some more thought, I think I was annoyed by the vegan/animal rights storyline because I could so closely relate to it and it was frustrating to see, haha!, but I am definitely disappointed in the whole dog storyline. I can't really go into detail without giving away plot points, so if you saw it let me know!
