People, please pray that my Crab, Miss Baltimore Crabs, will come back to life. I was outside, cleaning her cage, and when I took her back in, she won't move, so please hope she de-thaws.
First time I have ever prayed for crabs.
LOL
But this is a special crab, it dances to Broadway showtunes!!
*bows head and prays*

This is a weird thread.
Go visit the K-Fed thread - I am sure there is plenty of crab karma emanating from that song of his.
But, in all seriousness, I hope your crab is OK. Call a pet store or browse the web for possible remedies. Good luck.
Oh, put it in the microwave for a couple seconds. I did that for my fish... Wait, I take that back. Go with checking online. Answers.com might be helpful.
Poor baby. Was it that cold outside?
How old was Miss Boltimore Crabs? Maybe it was just her time.
Yay!!! She's now de-thawing, thank you all for your prayers, and Chenofan, she's only like, 1 or 2.
i had a hermit crap once that got naked and switched shells while i was watching.... it was so GROSS!
Good!!!!!! Tell her I said HI.
My dad froze our hermit crab once....that's what happens when you go away on vacation in December and Dad turns the heat down.....
On the flip side, my mother killed all our goldfish by making the water too hot after changing it...One of my most vivid childhood memories is my mother yelling "I'm killing the fish! I'm killing the fish! LOL!
I am glad she is doing better.
The only pet tragedy I can think of is when Gorky, my first cat with very long hair, got too close to a lit candle and his tail caught on fire and went up like a Christmas Tree.
All I heard from the other room was "OH MY GOD, HE'S ON FIRE!".
Luckily, he had a long enough coat that he was not hurt. But man, singed cat hair smells terrible.
Now, candles do not stay lit when I leave the room!
My dog ate our rug, and spent 3 days getting opperated on. She almost didn't make it. She is okay know.

Wow! My cat ALMOST did that....she walked through the center of my Advent wreath when all 4 candles were lit.....All I could envision was a flaming kitty running through my house!
The funniest part, if there is one, is that I had just finished telling my friends that Cats have a sense about them, and know how far they need to be from various items (i.e., crystal bowls on the shelves, candlesticks, open flames . . .). And not more than 10 minutes after that, Gorky's talk got too close to the candle flame and WHOOOSH - I was in the other room pouring a glass of wine when it happened, so I just heard her screaming. She pounced on him and got it out pretty quick.
Gorky was more annoyed at getting pounced on then the fire itself. I don't think he even knoew. But, he was one long-haird cat!
I just laughed so loudly at this thread title.
I've had a few hermit crabs in my day. My last one was a graduation present from my best friend in high school and he went to college with me. Sadly though he committed suicide. He left his shell and refused to go in any of the BAJILLION others that I had in there for him to choose from. Different sizes and everything. So I buried him outside the dorm and my roomate and I held a funeral. *tear*
Im kind of bad with pets I guess, I just bought a goldfish today and named it fishstick the last two fish I had got sucked up into the filter system and died and then the last gerbils I have had had six babies and the mother ran away so they all died and then I had 3 baby rabbits and they died cause they needed their mother
I hope fishstick survives
maybe you should stop getting pets wanderingchild...but I do hope Fishstick survives.
thats my new new years resolution, make sure fishstick survives
Hermit crabs are just the worst pets ever. They don't do ANYTHING and if you do not take excellent care of them they can start stinking to high heaven. I had a roommate with one. Blech.
My friend had a Hermit Crab for like, 6 years. One dya when she was fedding him and the others he looked dead so she put him in a little white box. Needlewss to say they were surprised when the box began to move a few hours later.
I like the hermit crabs with the painted shell. They are so pretty. I was looking into getting one. Too bad they don't sell them with a landscape of NYC.
