Last night I watched the movie 'Network' for the first time in a long time. It's amazing how well this movie has held up. Thanks to the incredibly brilliant and literate (Academy Award winning) screenplay by Paddy Chayefsky, it's as timely and relevant as the day it was written; maybe even more so. Just substitute UBS for FOX and you begin to see just how prophetic a film this was. And not only is it topical, it's hilariously funny, and all of the performances (including Academy Award winning turns by Faye Dunaway, Peter Finch, and Beatrice Straight) are all uniformly outstanding! Whether you've never seen it, or it's just been a while, I ugre everyone to SEE THIS MOVIE. Then, get up out of your chair, go to your window, open it, stick your head out and yell... I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!
The Mao Tse Tung Hour!!!!!! Does it get anymore brilliant than that?
Why don't they make movies like this anymore?
The Ecumenical Liberation Army!!!!!! Priceless!
Oh well... I tried. It's hopeless. Sorry if I distracted anyone momentarily from the "Idina Uses Charmin To Wipe Her Ass" thread. As you were.
I wasn't online but HERE I AM and I LOVE this movie.
It's absolutely brilliant. Glad you reminded me- I might have to go and rent it now.
Ahhhh... there is intelligent life out there after all! Yes... do yourself a favor and rent it soon. You won't believe how current and relevant it is to what's going on in the world, and in T.V. News, today. It could have been written yesterday. Enjoy it when you see it!
Bump
Thanks. :)
