I can't say the song it promotes made much of an impact but the music video- a century of Gay and Lesbian history- is jaw droppingly amazing.
Really

I thought it was kinda neat, I didn't like the song. Glad to see lesbians represented. It is disappointing though to be constantly represented by Hollywood films and celebrities.
We gays have done a lot more in the way of politics, science, medicine, art, education and literature to name a few.
It took me 15 minutes to watch an 8 minute video because I kept stopping and playing scenes back again.
I didn't care for the song either.
I love all of those pictures (Why was Frank Sinatra in there?) but I wish it was edited in such a way that my eye wasn't racing around to see everything.
There's some great stuff in there, but it's a jumbled mess.

I think it's designed to reward repeated viewing. I also thought it did a good job of presenting "history as it happens"- reminding us that while gay marriage is being passed, "god hates fags" protests are taking place.
There were a couple images I couldn't quite connect- Ol Blue Eyes among 'em.

John Grant's "Pale Green Ghosts" from whence this song came, is my favorite album of last year.
The art he manages to create out of the travails of his life is breathtaking.
Here's a clip of him performing on Later… With Jools Holland. It's the excellent song "GMF," an altered version of which Grant did on David Letterman's show.
So go ahead and love me while it's still a crime, And don't forget you could be laughing 65% more of the time
I loved the song.
