This is getting really interesting. Michael Brown, the disgraced head of FEMA, is apparently telling the White House that he will tell all about what happened, unless the White House provides him free legal defense to his refusal to testify:

"Unless there is specific direction otherwise from the president, including an assurance the president will provide a legal defense to Mr. Brown if he refuses to testify as to these matters, Mr. Brown will testify if asked about particular communications," the lawyer wrote."

And further, Brown has told investigators about widespread problems at FEMA arising out of it being put under the Department of Homeland Security -

"At that interview, Brown told investigators he was aware of management problems at the agency that were highlighted in a consultant's report months before Katrina. He attributed some of the problems to the agency's merger with the Homeland Security Department in 2003.

And better yet:

"What I wish I had done was, frankly, just either quit earlier or whatever and gone to certain friends that I can't talk about and said we got to fix this -- I mean, what's going on is nuts," Brown said, according to a Senate transcript of the meeting."

Interesting . . . very interesting

that's quite a pickel he's put them in, cause if they dont he could potentially reveal damaging information, and if they do, it looks like they are trying to hide something.

when ducks grow thumbs then maybe my opinion will change.

Slowly but surely the once-intimidated Congress is beginning to exercise its constitutional right to subpoena testimony and compel those subpoenaed to testify TRUTHFULLY.

Shocked I tell you, I am just shocked.

Actually the fact that it has come this far is shocking.

But et al. are usually a bit better at keeping their secrets to themselves.

What are the odds that Brownie says nothing and has some mysterious defense fund appear?

Whenever I hear "brownie" these days, I think "butthole".

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali
