In her first TV movie THE GIRL MOST LIKELY by Joan Rivers. Stockard played a fat ugly college girl tormented by her peers who suffers a dreadful car accident, and after reconstructive surgery and months in hospital emerges as...well, the gorgeous Stockard. She then proceeds to bump off her old enemies in ingenious ways!
Wow, never saw that movie...I'd like to though. Personally, besides the obvious Rizzo, I enjoyed her as one of the crazy aunts in Practical Magic...and I think she's genius as the First Lady on The West Wing.
Dr. Abby Bartlet! She is great on The West Wing!

Her best work was in SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION.
As Rizzo, she looks 35 years old.
I also saw her being wonderful in VANITIES in L.A. with Sandy Duncan and Lucie Arnaz. A thrilling production.
I thought I was the only one who thought she was an absolute hoot as the aunt in PRACTICAL MAGIC..
I love Rizzo, of course, and I also loved her as Thelma "Sister" Husband in WHERE THE HEART IS (she was so adorable) but I think my favorite role of hers is in "TO WONG FOO, THANKS FOR EVERYTHING! JULIE NEWMAR. The way she changed during the movie was really sweet, and she was a knockout in that red dress at the end!
Rizzo, Sister Husband, and Abby.
Did anyone see her replace Liza in THE RINK with Chita Rivera?
I lived in the city and didn't even see Liza in The Rink.
I forgot about Sister Husband -- pretty funny. :)

Didn't Stockard have a brief moment in "The First Wives Club"?
Yes, she did, and she was wonderful.
I love her in everything, but my favorite is definitely To Wong Foo. You can't help but feel sorry for her and want to jump through the screen and hug her. Sister Husband and West Wing are close behind. I love her scenes with Martin Sheen.
Abby Bartlett for President.
