Your New Orleans recommendations

A friend and I are going on our first non-work-related trip to NOLA and were wondering where we should dine (countless options), what we should do (not a whole lot of extra funds), and where/what we should drink?



We're staying with another close friend who is a 20 minute walk from the French Quarter and 15 minutes from Frenchmen St. We have no set plans except for visiting a cemetery and using the streetcars.

Atchafalaya - yummy yummy
Cafe du Monde - so touristy and so worth it
Frenchmen Street music-drinking crawl - I especially love the Spotted Cat
Cochon
Commander's Palace - transcends institutionality/tourism and a great jazz brunch followed by a walk through the Lafayette Cemetery #1 across the street
St. Louis Cathedral
Magazine Street shopping
Audubon Park
Emeril's Delmonico
Take the St. Charles Streetcar to the Blind Pelican, fun bar
catch whatever music and/or food festival might well be going on
