If you thought this thread was going to be about anything besides clothing, you are wrong.
Does anyone buy clothes that are on sale that they don't exactly need- Then, never wear them? Last year there was a HUGE sale at Old Navy and I bought a ton of stuff...most of which I have never worn. All through the year, if I see a really good sale and I like some stuff, I will buy it.
Today, I was going through my closet and drawers and my jaw dropped just seeing how many things still had tags on them.
When I was buying all this stuff I was probably thinking "WOW! These are great bargins!" Now I am thinking, "With all these clothes I've bought and never have worn, look how many shows I could have gone to!"
doesn't everyone do this? i'm wondering we should just STOP buying anything that's on sale, and just go ahead an pay full price for everything if it's something we KNOW we're really going to wear. the cost will prolly even out.
I have t-shirts from past vacations I've never worn.........
Yeah, I have shirts I've gotten at Old Navy for under $5 that are just sitting around...
I shop in expensive stores, so when I do buy things I wear them.
I use to have that habit, so I just ask myself if I would ever by the thing at full price whenever I buy anything on sale, before I make a b-line for the cash register. I do get caught in the rut of picking up things you'll never wear when the prices are ridiculously low. Ehhh, my label whore habit doesn't actually give me an opportunity to do this very often...because I'll have to be like wait, it really isn't as cheap as I'm making it out to be.

Friday, my supervisor told me to run downstairs to Century21 since they're having a winter clearance, I figure in four weeks it will be spring, why get stuff now that I won't wear for a year.
The worst I think is when you buy something expensive on sale and even though it may be 1/2 off it's still 50 bucks. Then, you don't wear it. Like my sister bought this blazer @ American Eagle for 40 bucks on sale back in August and never wore it, then returned it like in January--no receipt. She only got 15 dollars back.

LaVie- If I were your sister, I would have given it as a gift.
If she wasn't going to wear it and would only get 15$ for it, give it to someone...They'll probably think it's more than 15$.
I refuse to admit how many shirts in my closet still have price tags on them. It's ridiculous. But they were on clearance
My mother frequently buys me things that she knows (or should know) are not my style just because they're on sale, then accuses me of being a snob for not liking them.
if i find really good deals, like sometimes target and kohls have stuff for $1 or $2. I'll buy like $20 worth and donate it to a local church thrift store. I refuse to take it to salvation army because they charge more than what I originally paid.
Only bad Jews going to hell buy things they don't need.
But, since they were on sale, it is OK.
BSoBW, that's f**king hilarious because it's so true.
*raises hand reeaaaaaaaaaal high* Yeah... I do... especially when I am in NYC, because the city is shopping heaven. And more so when it comes to shoes and purses. I will buy a pair of shoes based on "cute" factor, alone... knowing darn well I won't end up wearing them. It's all about just having them as part of my collection. Like my "glass" slippers...you'd have to kill me to get me to wear them... but they look so cute all lined up with my other shoes. When the Aigner store was closing in our area I went nuts at their 70% off sale... I bought a pair of Pepto Bismal shaded shoes and the matching purse, as part of my take home goodies, with no intentions of wearing the shoes and using the purse. I call them my "Popular" set... the color reminds me of when GAlinda tells "Elphie": ohhhh pink goes good with green. LoL
I'm a shopping junkie... I admit it... :) but I'm also forturnate enough to have the means to be one. All hail to shopaholics!

Ya I'm like that. I have a pair of cords that I never wear because I decided when I didn't like the fit. Same with a pair of Levis.

I tend to let clothes age, on sale or not. They can sit in my closet for a few months before they become part of my everyday wardrobe.
Well, I hope those of us who have this habit give these clothes away after realizing that we won't wear them.

Billboard Girl, my mom used to do that too! Then she actually started to buy things I LIKED!!!! But, its still really annoying when she begs me to try every single article of clothing that she bought for me....even if its two shirts in different colors...
