OK - this criminal ignorance of bovine anatomy has got to STOP! I've seen animated movies for children that promoted this ignorance and here it is again.
The animals under discussion are BOVINES.
A
FEMALE bovine is a COW.
An immature BOVINE of either sex is a CALF.
A young COW that has not yet given birth to a CALF is a HEIFER.
A mature
MALE BOVINE is a BULL.
A castrated BULL is a STEER.
Those pink things hanging off the undercarriage of those BOVINES are UDDERS. UDDERS are the devices from which MILK is extracted, either by a CALF or a DAIRY FARMER. No male bovines, either BULLS or STEERS, have udders.
OK. Got it?
(now guess which member of BWW spent every summer of her young life on her godfather's dairy farm?)
