a project i'm doing...

yes i know, it seems i'm always doing some sort of project, but this is one i tried to start last year and did not give myself enough time to do anything with it.
i unfortunately didn't think of it until the middle of december and there was not enough time to accomplish what i hopes to accomplish.

it's called operation holiday smiles
i'm collecting gifts to bring to the child and adolescent units at the institute of living... it's a mental institution, rehab facility (sammy davis jr stayed there) and neuro-psychiatric research center.

every year, everyone donates to the kids at ccmc, the children's hospital right across the street.
everyone forgets that there are kids (some very young kids) at the iol who need to be cheered up as well. and more importantly, i think people forget that the kids who are there are still just kids.

I just came across this thread and felt it should be bumping up. It's such a lovely gesture and worthy project. I was touched by your openess about why you are involved in this. Since you're set up on Myspace, I'll have some people add you to their friends list to help get the word out.
