just saw this advertisement in the new philadelphia film festival magazine.

what?? Parker Posey, Chris Kattan AND Malcom Gets in the same film?

i've been wanting to see this for the longest time, I adore Malcolm Gets and would see anything he is in. But sadly I'm in KY and I seriously doubt we'll get it here.

I saw it last summer at Outfest in L.A. Soooo funny, and romantic, and maybe the first movie of its kind to feature two major gay actors (of course I mean openly gay) playing the leads. Malcolm Gets and writer/star/director Craig Chester are wonderful in this movie. And Chester wrote a fantastic novel based on the screenplay which gets inside the heads of the characters. While waiting for the movie, give the book a read.

I saw the movie last weekend and it is a lot of fun. I've been a fan of Malcolm Gets--his stage and TV work as well as his cabaret act for a long time and it's great to see him in a leading role.

I want to second what eslgr8 said about having out of the closet gay men in the leads. It's so nice to read interviews where they are not going to pains to say how straight the cast is, and the chemistry between Gets and Chester made it all the more enjoyable--they seemed to really have a good time. It's a really fun date movie.

It's produced by the same people who did LATTER DAYS, which I enjoyed, so I'm hoping this strikes a chord. Chester and Posey are close friends and have been getting quite a bit of coverage in the gay press. Their interviews together are pretty fun!

I also like that the characters are in their 30s/40s. Most gay movies are about people barely out of their teens.

saw it last night. i enjoyed it more than i thought i would, but i was in a goofy mood which helped. seeing POSEY as a fat chick was worth the ticket price. what a mixture of mad tv and the lifetime channel. i loved all the sweet kissing and cuddling on the part of GETS and CHESTER. here comes another beer bottle!
