Posted: 10/13/04 at 12:37pmI feel the same way listening to that as I did watching Fahrenheit 9/11 - even though the particular sound bites may be authentic, presenting them that way makes implications that aren't true.

The problem is the people who put something like this together admit it satire. Michael Moore, does not.

Posted: 10/13/04 at 12:56pmThe problem with that is that things do change. These people don't show WHY someone might have changed their opinions on an issue. Just because you feel one way at a certain time doesn't mean circumstances can't make you change your mind. They don't talk about that though, do they?

Just take a look at Matt's quote from papalovesmambo and you'll see a principled man changing his position.
Demonizing "shifts in thinking" is a specious argument. The Republicans are trying to position this as a lack of integrity, but it's not. Bush flip-flops just as much as or more than Kerry, and he panders just as much as or more than Kerry--as his pandering positions on stem-cell research and the gay-marriage amendment demonstrate.

Posted: 10/13/04 at 5:04pmHave any of you folks seen the comercial that shows John Kerry as a wind-surfer? It looks like freaking Nickelodian made it... kind of sad... Have you heard that Farenheit 9/11 is going to be shown on TV on Election Eve? I'm not sure what channel, but I haven't seen the film, so I may watch.

Posted: 10/13/04 at 5:11pmBlast... ::empties pockets:: all I have is a tissue and lint... I don't know if that can afford a pay-per-view movie. My Participation in Government (PIG) teacher is a major republican, but he says Kerry is definately a much better speaker. We've also got an assignment to count how many times "I have a plan" is said by both candidates in the debate when we watch it in class tommorow.
