another gay movie

Anybody have any thoughts on this one? It wasn't the greatest movie ever, obviously--some of the gags were stupid or merely gross (I've never been one for NAMBLA jokes). But we haven't really seen too many movies about friendship and crushes between uncloseted gay adolescents (CAMP bungled the opportunity, falling into worship-the-straight-boy banality). The storyline about nerdy bespectacled Griff and his unstated longing for his best friend was sweeter, sillier, and more moving than it would have been in a conventional coming-out type film of the kind this movie mocks.

yeah, gay movies usually (i find) fall into 3 categories; Amazing, good concept/bad execution, and Why God Why?

I haven't seen many gay movies lately. The last one I saw was Beautiful Thing from Netflix.

I thought the film was hilarious. It was gross at many points, but then so is Scary Movie, I thought it handled the parody pretty well, and I thought this was just as good as the first American Pie. The down side is you may have to know the gay themed/straight themed films they are making fun of. Though it was fun nonetheless. I didn't find it tiresome like those Sequals to Scary Movie or American Pie.

I thought it was up there with the American Pie films, silly and mostly gross out but with an overall sweetness

I think there have been a couple threads on this and the majority of posters disliked it.

My mouth was on the floor pretty much the whole movie. It "went there" and wasn't ashamed to. I didn't find the movie very funny, but a few scenes gave me some laughs. The pride parade when Jerod hit a homerun, and Niko's experience with "K" as in K-hole. Jonathan Chase is nice to look at though.
