Okay so for my voice class I have to pretend audition for "Fiddler on the Roof". Roles I would be considered for are either one of the 3 daughters, ideally for me the youngest, ideally for my teacher the middle daughter Hodel. ( by the way I am 20 but look anywhere from 13 to 16 and I have a Soprano/Belt voice)
So keeping in mind Hodels songs " Now I Have Everything" "Far From the Home I Love" what kind of song would be a good audition song?
When I listened to the songs I kept thinking of "More Than I Am" from Little Women, but I need more song choices so if you have ideas please help me.
thanks!

The theatre is one of the most expressive and useful instruments for the edification of a country; it is also the barometer which makes its greatness or its descent. A theatre which is sensitive and well oriented in all its branches from tragedy to vaudeville can in a few years change the sensibilty of the people; theatre which has been destroyed, in which cloven hooves take the place of wings, can put to sleep an entire nation. A people that does not aid and encourage its theatre is moribund if not dead; the theatre which does not gather to itself the best of society, of history, the drama of its people and the genuine color of its landscape and its spirit, with laughter or tears, does not deserve to call itself theatre, but rather a place for that horrible thing which is called killing time.- Federico Garcia Lorca

First of all... you shouldnt go straight to a broadway message board and ask for help. Do a little research and some homework!

Who is the composer for the music of Fiddler on the Roof?
Now go research that and find out. Then look to see what other shows he has composed. Research those shows and find a soprano song. Listen to it, it might be similar. I'm sure there are lots of soprano songs that he has composed one is bound to be similar to Far from the Home I Love.

Figuring this stuff out on your own will help you to have more unique results. Besides, if your voice teacher found out you posted here for help they probably wouldn't be happy, at least I know mine wouldn't.

thanks! those are actually a few of the shows that I just finsished looking at, I am going obc hunting tomorrow for a couple of those.
"Will he like me" is the song I was mostly leaning towards. I also was looking into Crazy for You- "Someone to watch over me"; but I think She Loves me is a bit more appropiate.
thanks again for your help
