So I'm preparing for summer program auditions, and I need help with my audition songs.
One has to be a uptempo and one a ballad, and one must be written before 1965 (traditional) and we can only sing 16 bars.
I'm going to make my traditional pre 1965 one my ballad song, since the older songs are mainly slower.
Here are some ideas I have so far. I had way more a few hours ago but now I just can't think of anymore haha. (sorry if some are overdone! any suggestions can be helpful)
Ballad:
If I loved you (Carousel)
Till there was you (The Music Man)
My lord and master (The King and I) :S
What good would the moon be? (Street Scene)
Uptempo:
Spark of Creation (Children of Eden)
Disneyland (Smile)
Oh god I bet these are kinda overdone... ish...
Btw I'm a 16 year old sop who can belt :)

If I were you, I would go with Street Scene and Smile. Children of Eden has become very popular since its another S. Schwartz musical.
King and I and Music Man are usually overdone because they're old movie musicals that everyone's seen a hundred times. Plus, so I think Street Scene would be the best choice out of your four. Plus, I love that song. :)

Thanks very much for your help!! :)
I'll be auditioning for MPulse, Interlochen etc. so hopefully these songs will be good enough for me to get in

By the way, maybe I'm a bit paranoid, but would you consider Street Scene a musical or an opera? We have to sing a song from a musical (lol duh) and I don't want to take any chances.......
