bad teachers

some teachers are just plain BAD and i dont understand why they are teachers and they cant draw a strate line with a ruler

I had an english professor that always read WAY too deep into things ( i.e. a bench that a character sat on for two seconds was a metaphor for the characters opression, yeah right). Anyway...one day he started going on a rant about a short story and the "symbolism" in that short story. I was determined to prove him wrong becasue his expalnations were so rediculous. I found out the author of the short story taught at a college in TX. I wrote the author and e-mail asking what the things my professor was so sure about actually meant and they were no where near what he said. I printed the e-mail and showed it to him. So that only goes to show you don't beleive everything a prefessor tells you. Like ddtruitt said, call professors on their mistakes, otherwise the will always be giving wrong info.
