my best gal pal and i are getting together tomorrow night for Easter and she wanted to bring a movie to watch after dinner, i said sure thinking it would be "Ten Commandments" or "The Greatest Story Ever Told" or even "Passion of the Christ" but no was i wrong she said since was in college her favorite flick to watch for Easter is..."The Last Temptation of Christ", wtf? i'm gonna counter her flick with "Jesus Christ Superstar" and see who comes out on top.
My mind is clearer now
At last all too well
I can see
where we all
soon will be!
"Gal pal"? Who are you - Oprah?
"Harvey" now there's an idea.
And Rath, je suis Oprah, vous etes chien
etes?
Go with The Prince of Egypt. Has the Tradition of 10 comandments being "The Easter Movie" but is also a musical. Unless you've never seen The Last Temptation of Christ then watch her movie. I had never seen Meet me in St Louis and it's one of my best friends favorite Christmas movies so I went and watched that with him this past Christmas and really enjoyed it, but how caould i not enjoy Judy?

I really like the Jesus Miniseries with Jeremy Sisto. And of course, King of Kings... but that's really all about my teenage crush on Jeffrey Hunter with the blue eyes and the long hair...
kate took my answer!
Also, "A Family Circus Easter". I watch it every year.
There's always Easter Parade....(if that's not the title, at least that song is in it)
But really, even Superstar is closer to the real story than Last Temptation of Christ.....
And how are Ten Commandments and Prince of Egypt Easter movies? They are about Moses, not Jesus. I could see watching Prince of Egypt to celebrate Passover, but Easter?
You could go with the classic movie Easter Parade with Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, and a score by Irving Berlin!
Ok...it is Easter Parade....
We're on the same wavelength Enjolras!
We must be...we even posted that message at the exact same time!
Hmm..."Holiday Inn" has an Easter number in it...you could always skip right to it. But then, why would you? It's a great movie anyway!
And I was thinking of Meet Me in St. Louis, because it's really a Halloween, Christmas, and Easter movie!
Also I always think of Steel Magnolias. It opens at Easter and closes at Easter.
I think as far as biblical films are concerned, "The Greatest Story Ever Told" is the best. (At least the best visually.) It ends with Christ's resurrection.
I'll be watching 'Song of Bernadette' and 'Easter Parade'.
Even this nice Jewish girl likes Easter Parade!

Look at the sentence structure (run-on), the missing words, and the lack of capitalization.
Can you believe this guy won an award for his teaching skills?
I don't.

If you run out of movies, check out two great old Easter books:
The Country Bunny and the Golden Shoes
The Easter Egg Artist
I pull these books out every Easter for my niece and nephews, and the illustrations are beautiful.
*back on topic*
justme, I love the Country Bunny!
So glad to see another fan of this beautiful book! I still have the one I had as a kid, and it's a timeless classic, isn't it?
Bumpity, hoppity, Easter's on its way!
I remember when I was growing up that The Wizard of Oz switched to showing annually on Easter Sunday. So I still sometimes think of this movie as an "Easter" event.
Also The Ten Commandments (same reason)
Easter Parade
It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (love the use of Beethoven's 7th!)
Jesus Christ, Superstar (go ahead, laugh)
Holiday Inn (parts of it, anyway)
Here Comes Peter Cottontail (Rankin Bass--Not one of their best, but I can't resist stop-motion animation for any holiday!)
I'm sure there are others... if I could just wake up and turn my brain on.
