"-oma": Careful with this one, boys. The ending "-oma" can tell you one of two things about a tumor; it either tells you the location of the tumor OR the material the tumor is made up of.

E.g., "hepatoma" would be a tumor occurring in the liver, while "hematoma" would be a tumor filled with blood.

Please, Undi...I was going to go there, I just didn't know if it would be too much sexy too soon. I figured the boys would need some time with "-oma" first, so I was trying to pace them, but if you insist...

The suffix "-ectomy" should really be examined in conjuction with two other suffixes of the same basic derivative: "-tome" and "-tomy."


A "-tome," if you will, is the surgical instrument used for making the "-tomy," which is the surgical incision. And as you already pointed out an "-ectomy" is the surgical excision.


Now, if this thread gets deleted for being too hot to handle, I'm blaming you, Undi.

I'm not familiar with the Fabulous Bad Idea Babes (for the record, I think "FBIB*tches" sounds hotter), but are they in any way related to the sexiest infix of them all "-sc-" (from the fourth-conjugation verb "scire," meaning "to know")?

Because while I don't know anything about the FBIB's, I do know that you do NOT want to f*ck around with "-sc-".
