I wasn't talking about ME. Okay i sorta was... Now even though i'm generally immune to these lists, you can't help but feel a twang when you're excluded. I'm back warming the bench on the baseball team (it did happen, until my father took pity and enrolled me in art classes.) Although i have gotten a few nice PM's over the last year!

Aww, Zeppie didn't forget me this time like he did on the favorite thread, yaay! And we definitely will...Phantom baby!

I've already met Emcee and Mistress who are awesome and tentative plans to meet BSo, Dolphin, Zeppie, and Jwei...and anyone else who wants to meet! Actually, this week sometime I may be going to the off-broadway show "Audience" sounds like something I'd love, if anyone's interested in going and meeting me, PM me!

Ohhh, liotte...I totally want to meet you. One day we'll get around to a Yankees (preferably Red Sox) game! btw, that craigslist guy has totally dropped off the face of the earth (hasn't returned calls or e-mails for days), so it looks like I probably won't be going Wednesday after all.

Ehh, if we really wanted to see you pained and dying, we would make you watch the POTO movie...ooh Zeppie, that's a really good idea, maybe before or after the show? That would be awesome...Zeppie would be extremely happy to be watching Emmy, I would be extremely happy to be watching Gerry, and we'd both be extremely happy to see the torment on BSo's face. Sounds like a plan, guys?

i think some of the thread's subtitles point out the irony sufficiently, and most people are taking the "listing" in good humor. If this kind of interaction offends you so much, the thread's title is clearly labelled, and you can enjoy yourself more nobly in other threads on either board.

This whole site's reason for being is "self-selecting" (those who enjoy B'way theatre in particular and popular culture in general), so if like minds continue to be attracted to each other and form mutual admiration societies, it's kind of natural. If you choose to view it as judgemental and exclusionary, that's your right, but kindly don't project demeaning intentions on all those who do choose to participate (quite likely, in the majority of cases, they don't mean to ignore or belittle anyone by complimenting someone else).

Think of it like a sports event: some fans go all out, form a clique, paint their faces and/or their bodies; some participate less, yet know all the chants and cheers; some go just to see the event live; some attend to please partners more interested in the experience; some are there to tailgate and socialize; others are fine to watch it on TV...but being bonded to any one group, or watching the game alone, has little to do with why the other subsets are there. And being part of a subset and interacting with like-minded fans differently than with fans in another subset implies no enmity from sub-set to sub-set. Unless you're bound to see it that way. i can watch a game, enjoy the clowning of the body-painters, clap along with the chanters, commismerate with the passion of the live viewers, sympathize with the tag-alongs, buy a beer and wish i was cooking out instead of having to fork over too much for a concessions hotdog, and hope that a friend is taping the TV coverage so i can see plays close-up or myself caught in the crowd...heck, i can even watch the Jumbotron instead of the game itself...but if two of the body-painted cliques hook up afterwards, then join a newfound posse of tailgating friends, i don't feel excluded because i didn't make the same connection. i figure, to each his own. i still enjoyed the experience itself.

No offense meant. It's all in the perspective.
