Posted: 7/25/05 at 10:37amI just love the fact that a guy who made a living playing a character named Cooter is now complaining about sexual content.

He's apparently never seen the original show either.
Because when I think of high class, respectable family entertainment, I immediately think of 'The Dukes of Hazzard.'
'Yee Haa.'

Cooter is nuts. Did he ever watch "The Dukes Of Hazard"? Daisy was hanging out of her clothes, they were constantly breaking the law and running from the police, every elected official was corrupt-- What great values did that TV show teach anyone? I think he's just jealous they didn't invite him in for a cameo.
The best thing about the "DOH" movie is that they secured (and paid) for the rights to make a movie of the series, not realizing that the series premise was taken from a movie itself-- the producers of that film sued the makers of the new "Dukes" movie and received a $15 Million dollar settlement. Oops.

Posted: 7/25/05 at 10:46amnow, joe, you know as well as i do that daisy's clothes were not a conscious decision by the producers to show skin, but rather a carefully considered choice by the actress in consultation with her director to allow those obviously too small clothes to act as a portal into the reality that the dukes were too poor to buy daisy new clothes. do you think she actually wanted to be seen as a sexual object and to inspire the name for future generations of nearly non-existent shorts? it was all about the character, dude. my god to hear you describe it as some kind of crass come-on just makes me want to go brew some 'shine.

If I hear Jessica Simpson's messed up (i'd love to use the word i want to use) rendition of "These Boots" again, I'm never lisening to the radio ever.
It's awful.
Go go go-go boots forever.

Posted: 7/25/05 at 11:26amAll I know is that nobody in that film is going to better the television cast. Call it stupid, if you like, but it was very funny and perfectly rendered for what it was. And the three leads were beautiful. Only Simpson is beautiful in the movie cast.
