I was there, watching it at MSG
It was pretty awesome, I've never watched live gymnastics before. The arena was empty enough that we were able to move from apparatus to apparatus.
I didn't realize that Paul Hamm took 2 1/2 years off, but you wouldn't know. He's still amazing, and had a healthy lead over the rest of the field. He did the same vault that he did in Athens, that was a treat (but he didn't fall this time!)
And damn, the U.S. women were impressive. I think my favorite part was watching them live on the balance beam. They were just amazing, you'd think it was floor exercise.
Very, very excited for Beijing!
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
