ok so i just got an ipod (i know i know, i'm behind the times LOL) and i want to fill it with music! however, i don't have music previously saved on my computer, and i also don't want to spend $1 per song via itunes.
are there still programs out there, such as limewire or kazaa, that are currently operational and won't get you in trouble with the law for downloading music?

gee, ya think?! that's why i was asking if there was any sort of legal downloading out there...i know it was a long shot.
i thought maybe people had ways of downloading music instead of spending $1000 dollars to download 1000 songs from the itunes store. just seems a little ridiculous...

I've read it's only illegal if you share it yourself.
So, turn off the sharing.

Posted: 4/26/07 at 3:36pmDon't you have cd's? When I got my iPod, I spent hours -- DAYS -- ripping all of my cd's to my computer. I almost never download music. I'm one of those that still likes to "collect" the physical cd.

I don't see uploading a song from a CD, or buying it off iTunes, and then sharing it.
What's the difference between that and burning a CD, and handing it out to all your friends?
Who will most likely put it on their computers, and share it with their friends.
