Can anyone think of an instance, from a book, movie, current event, time in history, etc. where someone with an education had absolutely no common sense? Or someone with no education achieved great things because of their common sense? I'd really appreciate it.

I was definitely just about to say Bush myself. So, I second that.

President Lincoln had no real education. Lincoln attended school infrequently during his childhood, never for more than a few months, but he did learn the rudiments of spelling, grammar, and math.

On the opposite end, my father, who had no education beyond high school, and became the Vice President of Home Depot.

I'd say that Bush seems like someone who had an education, but got nothing out of it.
Is it possible, however, to have a good education, actually learn a thing or two, and still have no common sense?
If you're accepting fictional characters, Don Quixote comes to mind. He was obviously educated, and his obsession with his books caused him to lose touch with reality. Hamlet could be another case; well-educated, intelligent, but fatally indecisive.
