ethnicity in acceptance

I know grades and everything matter...but how much does a person's ethnicity count in acceptance?

it really depends on the college...

I know that at U. of Michigan, admissions are based on a 150 possible point system

some include:

80 points for grades
10 for being a Michigan resident
12 for your SATs
and 20 for being african american, native american or hispanic
