I used to think they were disgusting, but when I went to get my tattoo, this guy working there had gauged his ears and had a open circle plug in them with a ring through that. It was really hot. Or rather HE was really hot, so the gauged ears didn't bother me.

yes, there's something that i don't have. and no, i don't like gauged ears much. although, i did see a couple of people that it doesn't look bad on... but yeah, there are other piercings that i'd much prefer.

Mine are size 0, and you can't even tell with the plugs I have. I do have to admit that the monkey looking ears are not hot.

Plugs don't bother me.
The gauging with open rings scares the hell out of me.

Definitely a not for me. They freak the hell out of me! I just imagine (the really large ones, at least) getting hooked on something and ripping, or just kind of giving out in their old age. *shudder* Chalk it up to being yet another quirky bodily thing that freaks me out...right up there w/ protruding veins (you know when they really stick out on older people's hands? They just seem so exposed and vulnerable) and the thought of loosing a fingernail or a toenail (I was always nervous about that somewhere in the back of my mind playing field hockey; getting a swift knock to the thumb w/ a stick and loosing a fingernail or something! Blech!!!)

Yeah, I had the tunnels in for awhile....bad bad bad idea. If you're not on top of cleaning the hell out of them....*shudder* Gauging is something you should really take seriously and think of the consequences, and so many young kids try to jump from the regular post size (18 g) to like, 4 g in 2 weeks. Such a bad idea! I'm pretty much guaranteed that my ears will grow back relatively to normal...probably to like a 12-14 g or something, not too bad. If I sleep without them for a night or two, they shrink a size. Everybody's different.
