They had a gay dating show on Bravo a few years back. I don't know how well it went over. But I do remember, they put one straight guy in the mix. And if the straight guy got picked he won money.

I think it was something like Bravo's second or third highest-rated show ever at the time. But now the surprise element of secretly including straight guys is gone, so that might be why they haven't had a new season in like five years or however long it's been. I think they want that element in there so they can attract a wider audience.

FOX tried a similar thing with a woman a few years ago ("Playing It Straight") and it got canceled after only a few episodes. So I wouldn't expect a major network to take the risk you're talking about any time soon.

See? There is more to life than cast recordings of flopz.

(Anyone who has seen his posts on the main board will understand, hopefully...)

If I was the lead of a gay bachelor series, I'd be worried all the guys competing for me would be hooking up with one another.

I just wish Audra would have gotten her own reality show.

Phyllis has a point- I always said the premise of the show (with the 'secret hetero') was faulty. What they needed was a show where a dozen bottoms compete for the affection of one top. That would keep the show lively. Then at the end, the 'twist' is that the the top is just a big of a bottom as the others. That would provoke some fireworks!

You have to find a way to sustain it, though, because after one season, everyone will know the twist. That was the problem with Boy Meets Boy.
Like, for the second season, maybe the main guy is a top, but it turns out all the others are straight.
And for season three, the guys are all bottoms, but we find out at the end that the main guy was actually Ann Coulter wearing a faux hawk wig.
