grey's anatomy & lost - weird????

does anyone else think it's weird that both shows, "Grey's Anatomy" and "Lost", two of ABC's biggest shows both have a main character named Dr. Shephard??!?!?!??!?

okay so maybe it's not as weird to ya'll but it's just coincidence that these two shows started around the same time on the same network and have similar character names.

Lost started a good five months (at least) before Grey's Anatomy -- Grey's Anatomy was a mid-season replacement last year...

Personally, I think the name was given purposefully on "Lost".....Jack is the one who "shepherds" all the people, makes them feel safe and secure

but I think it's totally random on Grey's Anatomy.

And speaking of names, all I could think of last night on Grey's Anatomy was "she'd better not name that child George Bailey"

Yeah...and so now his name is William George Bailey....which is just as bad...
