re: how did u discover this site?

I discovered this site by joining the Official Hairspray Forum. Then someone made a thread along the lines of "Any other broadway forums." I remember it might've been broadwayguy2 (maybe?) that listed broadwayworld.com. Then, the rest is history.

re: how did u discover this site?

A friend, who isn't even into Broadway at all, got the address from a friend. Now it consumes my life.
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."

re: how did u discover this site?

Last year we decided to do a spring week of theatre in NYC. So, not having been there in years, I started to just google around to see what I could find out. This was one of the first sites that I found. So, I mined it for information for months, and watched the board for entertainment/amusment/enlightenment/enragement. After we got back from the trip, I decided to join and post, having now had at least SOME experience with the shows being discussed. Of course, once you get involved, you find out how many different things become grist for the mill re: how did u discover this site?

re: how did u discover this site?

I found ModernBroadway.com first which is where Kris used to mainly run the radio station from and then I saw a little note saying to transfer over to Broadwayworld on the site. I listened to the radio and happened across the boards. I actually registered on the site about a month before I started posting because I thought you had to register to listen to the radio. Anyway I read the boards and was tickled by a lot of the humor and all the info being tossed around. It was when someone claimed they knew A Tale of Two Cities here at home and said it sucked (I later proved they had never even heard it)that I got on the board and decided I would find out for myself if (a) anyone else had heard of it and (b) what anyone else thought. So you have T2C to thank/blame for my presence on the board. re: how did u discover this site?

My avatar is a reminder to myself. I need lots of reminders...

re: how did u discover this site?

I found this site while I was searching for info on the BC-EFA
flea market. Now like many other posters it takes up way too much of my time.
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien

re: how did u discover this site?

out-of-tune, I LOVE your icon.

Anyway, I was googling something Broadway-related, and a thread on this board concerning whatever that was came up. I started reading the other stuff up here, and lurked for a few days before I got completely pulled in. The rest, as they say, is history!

re: how did u discover this site?

My Boyfriend had joined just before we met and he recommended it to me - it has provided HOURS of entertainment in the months since.
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

I believe my story is the same as Emcee's. I love (and hate) Google for that. re: how did u discover this site?

re: how did u discover this site?

Someone mentioned some posts about Wicked on Cheno's board, saying that this place was "notoriously snarky." I decided to check it out. And not only is it snarky, but caustic and cynical... I LOVE it!! Haha. Now I spend my summer on here. Ugh, its so sad.
What is Broadway? A street? Some say it's a street. Some say it is the best street in the world. Others think its terrible. That's the beauty of it, it's terribly beautiful. Some hate it and don't know why. Others love it and don't know why. That's what makes it so wonderful, it's a mystery.

re: how did u discover this site?

I overheard a couple of people I was working with talking about it and asked for details. This was a while ago. I checked it out off and on without joining. Finally, I decided it seemed like fun and just had to take part in it.

re: how did u discover this site?

I was on another forum, and heard that there was a post that was making a false accusation against someone in a show (I won't say what). That's when I heard about it. I joined this year, and I don't remember why I started posting.

re: how did u discover this site?

One good thing about this forum is if you make a post, you're very likely to get a response and answer within minutes of your first posting. On a lot of other forums, you may have to wait a day or two for an answer.
