I haven't really liked some of the iTunes updates, my OCD hates that it sorts it so that anything starting with a number or symbol, like [title of show] or The 25th Annual..., are at the bottom and not the top. But this time the update has gotten obnoxious.
I do a lot of CD burning. I backup all my CDs, and use those in the car (So that my store-purchased ones are ok). Used to I could set it so that it was exactly how I wanted it...now every time I burn one, it asks me to select my settings.
And, when I do delete, it doesn't give me the option of turning off the dialogue boxes.
Does anyone else have problems like this? Or am I just to anal for my own good?
I can't make the stupid links to the iTunes Store go away. They took it out of preferences, those bastards.
But I'm sort of liking the Genius feature. Except that it doesn't recognize a lot of my songs (like "American Boy" by Estelle) for some reason.
I had mine set to start automatic playback while importing a cd. You know, once the first track was in it would start to play while it contiued to import the rest of the cd.
Now, you have to wait for the whole thing to import and create a playlist before it will play.
The option box for this feature is gone.
I hate that on cover flow now, if the album you're looking for includes more than one artist, it'll show up as another separate album even though it's the same one. It's really annoying, especially when I'm looking for OBCR's.
But I think the Genius feature is pretty cool. It recognizes most of my songs, although some of my Broadway music isn't recognized,.

Good to see I'm not the only one.
It used to be so user-friendly...I hope they fix this somehow.
I think they took away some of the fine-tuning "shuffle" features as well.
Didn't you used to be able to check a box or two about shuffling songs less frequently from the same artist or album, etc. Those features seem to be gone now. All you can do is just plain "shuffle," and you get a lot of tracks that are similar together.

I"d give a lot for them to download the correct album cover to match the correct album.
This Genius thing is kind of creepy, and doesn't really suggest much in the way of music I'm at all interested in, and often suggests albums I already own.
I don't like to update iTunes. I think I'm still on a late 6.something, or maybe an early 7.something. Last time I updated iTunes, it stopped behaving itself, so I don't update it anymore. It's excessively annoying how I can either add one song or one folder at a time to my library, but not multiple songs/folders like I used to. Booo!
I will not be updating anytime soon no matter how much arm-twisting Apple does. Since my recent upgrade to 8.0, I find myself falling back to the old settings as much as possible. It seems that every time I launch the player, some new undesired feature pops up.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. Why software houses can't adhere to that is beyond me. I've been using one of my TV sets for almost 15 years and a stereo component system for even longer.
I hate it and wish I had not updated. Between that and the new facebook I have spent more time in front of this computer than I really should.
