Yeah, I'm getting them too. For the moment, I've turned the sound off my computer. I understand they need revenue, but if they keep this up, it'll be enough to make me quit the site. Incredibly annoying and loud.

They are driving me CRAZY. And we shouldn't have to keep the sound off on our computers just to be able to use this site without annoyance.

Yeah, they're pretty annoying. Especially if you're using headphones while viewing BWW. I just mute my computer every time I'm on this site.

I'm not condooning ad blocking on this or any other site, but it's pretty darn easy to do if you know what you're working with.

Google's Chrome and Mozilla's Firefox both have ad blocking extensions available. Opera has a built-in content blocker. IE8 can block ads through it's InPrivate filter (search Google for the ad blocking list). There's a user.css file out there that can block ads in Safari and Firefox; plus, there are user.js files out there that can block ads in Opera, Chrome, and Firefox (with Greasemonkey extension).

And any application on any operating system can take advantage of the HOSTS file. Just Google search it. We're not hopeless against the annoying Internet ads out there, even if we don't know much about computers. But I don't condone any of this, of course.
