is First Dude Todd the new Mark Furman?

Over drinks the other night, two friends were ruminating over the topic of attraction to the un-PC poster boys of the moment. We all shared anecdotal evidence -- mine comes from hanging out at this board -- that the First Dude of Alaska has, uh, risen to the naughty ranks of OJ's favorite cop -- the creep of the moment in the collective fantasy. I remember how Mark was on everyone's lips (!) in the 90s, and one drunken friend even screamed "I'm sorry, I know he's racist scum, but I can't watch him on the witness stand without thinking of him blanking me!" Or something to that effect.

Now, we are reading in the Times how Todd, Dude the First of the Fisheries, never wears a tie, and is so appealing "cleaned up." Of course, we also heard in the Times today that locals said of Sarah "she can pee in the woods, put on lipstick, and go out to dinner!" I can do all those things, too, but not generally in that order.
