Having no experience with dancing, I'd say go with athletic ones used by volleyball players.
now those are probably too bulky but thats my suggestion.
I've been in dances that require knee pads and I've always used the ones volleyball players use. Just make sure that they're not too bulky. Usually the ones that are just foam padding in the front work well.

Thanks! Can they be bought in a store like Moddell's, or would I have to go to a specialty store.
I think you can get them through Capezio.
Big 5, maybe?
You can order them from this website. You have to scroll down a little before you find them
Knee Pads
I could use some knee pads. Badly! My knees are becoming calloused.

Thanks so much for all the help, guys!!!!
Does anyone know what would be a good temporary solution for the knee-hard choreography (i.e. taping tissues to my knees)?
both Homo Depot, oops, I mean Home Depot and Lowes have many styles, in many "thicknesses".

Bwaylvsong - For a temporary solution, one of my dance instructors used to reccomend rolling up a pair of leg warmers. If you don't have leg warmers, you could cut the toes off an old pair of socks, or something similar.

Look for "low-profile" knee pads at any sporting goods store. They are very thin and I think will serve well for dance without being too obvious under a costume. I use them myself when I play indoor volleyball. Good luck.
if this thread does not go the way of the dryer balls thread, i'm SO quitting broadwayworld.com.
you're just bitter that no one started a knee pads thread back when it could have helped to avert your legs being cut off at the knees after the endless hours you spent kneeling with no protection.
Do I need to be punished for contributing? Please.
Too f-ing funny!
please. yer tall, but kneepads at 2? you know damn well you were not using them. on the other hand you did have that step ladder that you carried everywhere with you.
bwaylvsong, do a web search for "chinese knee pads." They are much thinner, and therefore more easily hidden, but I am told that the dancers in Contact used them.

The title of this thread is also the answer to the riddle:
At the hospital, how can you tell who is the head nurse?

Thanks! I will be sure to look into Chinese knee pads, and will tell you all the result (as if anyone actually cares lol).
