i really do miss her quite often, it was such a joy anytime she turned up as a guest on a teevee show!
she was one of those people that are so INCREDIBLE looking that you just cant even believe she's real!!!
& then so smart, talented & FUNNY!!!!!!
she's on my mind because i watched Dolly's SMOKEY MOUNTAIN CHRISTMAS several times this past week. Anita Morris plays JEZEBEL, the witch, & she has the immortal line, "if that blonde lady stays around for a spell, she'll be stayin around for one of ***MY*** spells!!!!"
Miss her.
And one of the true original insane talk show guests.
I love this one:

And I've posted this here before, so forgive me for repeating myself...but...
Back before she was famous, she taught "Movement for Actors" at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. I took teenage classes on Saturday mornings and she was the movement teacher. She was the sexiest woman I had ever met--sexy on a level of Marilyn Monroe or Barbara Eden.
She used to stretch us out in our leotards by having us sit with our legs open. Then she would place her feet on our ankles and push out. She would stretch our hamstrings and quadriceps and hip flexors and sometimes other things would stretch too... Even budding homosexual boys like me found the hole on the thigh of her tights more than a little exciting.
I remember her being funny and beautiful with lots of shocking red hair. Years later, when she was in Nine, I marveled that age had only made her more beautiful and more sexy--and just as funny!

I LOVE THAT STORY!!!!!
Anita Morris' defines sexy. That commercial just oozes sex, it's brilliant.
What I find the most fascinating about her is that she was as sexual and funny as possible in "A Call from the Vatican" but her "Simple" is touching and heart-breaking. That versatility really accentuates her talents.
I wish I had seen her as a chorus girl in SEESAW and in her replacement gig as Mona in BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS.

the one I have is where she is holding balloons for a guy to pop w/ a whip. She contorts into various poses holding the balloons in her teeth or toes.
This may be the ulitmate Anita Morris tribute. She literally has flames shooting out of her ass at the end!
She was HOT! Just ask Mick...

and to think back in the dark ages of the 80s, her lovely natural breasts were considered quite "bosomy". In comparison, they look relatively small next to the silicone porno cantalopes that have become the norm for actresses (and trophy wives) today,
What a doll! I got to know her and Grover on an acquaintance level, and she was always a joy to be around. So full of life, that even when she became ill, the idea of her dying never entered my mind. Next to Barbara Eden, she had the greatest body I've ever seen in person.

It is, unquestionably, the best Dolly Parton movie Henry Winkler ever directed.
Good God! I haven't seen that Rolling Stones video in about twenty odd years. I remember sitting up for "Friday Night Videos" just to watch it. And, if I didn't lose it in a fire, I have a USA Today clipping where Anita talks about making that video.
And I have the New York Times obituary on her.
Rest in Piece, you are still missed.
