read a thread the other day saying that the theatre where WiW is in London (closing soon) is going to be housing Spamalot, but before that they are putting a tour of Whistle down the Wind in there.

do London theatres not stay empty and dark like Broadway?

Don't f*ck with me fellas. This ain't my first time at the rodeo.

I read that 'Whistle Down The Wind' is going into the Palace once 'WIW' closes and before 'Spamalot' opens later in the year. They don't leave theatres here dark for very often. Even though this is likely to be a terrible production, I suppose they think it makes sense to put an ALW show into there as it's his theatre. You know, 'Some show is better than no show.' The Palace is a huge theatre, though, and something like 'WDTW' is never going to fill it.

Well sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. The Prince Edward was dark for 6 months before Poppins to allow for refurbishment. The Prince Of Wales went dark for a year almost to be refurbed. I'm trying to think of a dark theatre in London that's not being refitted though and I'm coming up short.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

Lately, it's been rare to see most New York theatres dark.
I'm surprised that the Schonefeld hasn't been nabbed yet.
