since memorial day is being observed today i wanted to start a thread for people to remember their loved ones who were veterans who have passed away.
my paternal grandfather was a veteran and passed away from lung cancer and my great uncle frank was a veteran and passed away from a.l.s.
i will have to find some pictures to put on this computer later.
please feel free to post memories you have of your loved ones here.

Elphaba started a nice thread and sadly it faded off the front page. Although, we can never have too many Memorial Day threads.

as a veteran, I am totally insulted by that........but then the beauty of America is that you cann be as much of an A**hole as you want to......and cat, you prove it.
people like you make me sick to my stomach that 290,000 Americans died protecting your right to be an A-hole in WW2.
and a really insuting way for a two-day newbie to act, or anyone for that matter.

Seriously, that is an absurd thing to say. If it was meant in jest, it failed miserably.
How disrespectful and insulting.
