Do you mean blank DVDs for a DVD recorder? I've never heard of a DVR disc.

I think they mean DVD-R or DVD-RW, smartypants...

tiny, stay away from generic brands, I think...I've had terrible trouble with Staples brand. I bought a 25 pack awhile ago and none of them were recognized by my dvr.

I usually go with Sony or TDK. You can often find a pack of 100 on sale for around $20. Be sure to check the format and reading/writing speed compatibility with your player. My machine plays both DVD-R and DVD+R, but there are still many players out there that only use one or the other.

I know some people have had problems with Memorex DVD-Rs, but I've used them pretty much exclusively and never had any trouble.

...unless you're doing dual-layers. In which case, you really get what you pay for, so I'd suggest springing for Verbatim. I've bought cheaper dual-layers and ended up with a set of $20 coasters.

I agree. Cheap blank DVDs almost always end up as coasters, after hours and hours of frustration. Go for the name brand and save your money elsewhere.

Mister Matt is right. Sony or TDK. That's what I use.

The Apple DVD-Rs are also excellent, but rarely on sale.
