....thought this was an interesting point. Don't go hating, just think about the contrast. i realize some of the McCain stuff is subjective, of course; but i didn't feel right in taking it out for the pure facts, since it's not my own work to begin with. From the Letters to the Editor of the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram:

What if John McCain were a former president of the Harvard Law Review?

What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?

What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said 'I do' to?

What if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife after she no longer
measured up to his standards?

What if Michelle Obama were a wife, who not only became addicted to pain
killers, but acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama were a member of the 'Keating 5'?

What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election
numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does.

It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate
and emphasizes negative qualities in another, when there is a color
difference.

If those questions reflected reality, neither McCain nor Obama would be nominated by their parties. Not in a million years.

Amy Poehler as Hillary (paraphrased): "I didn't want a woman in the White House. I wanted to be President and just happen to be a woman." (i thought that went well with your signature, Mamie)

Yes, it would be great if there were a candidate out there that the majority of the country could feel genuinely unequivocally inspired by, whose choices we could all commismerate with. But for years, elections seem to have been about the lesser of the evils. Who, in their right mind, would want to be a politician today? you really have to be called to serve, or those kind of leadership abilities would make you much richer, and much more secure, in the private sector. i do feel both the party leaders today, both men at the top of the tickets, have a calling to serve and have shown that attribute. Are either perfect? no. Do i particularly like either running mate? not really, but i can be convinced. Do i mourn Hillary's departure from the ticket? yes, but with reservations.

The "great" Presidents, had we lived in their day, were probably just as human, in different ways. What can ultimately make a difference is not who we choose for the White House, but the MANY choices in government that happen each and every year...being true researchers about all candidates for whom we vote, and not being swayed by fancy marketing from either side. MUCH HARDER TO DO. But worth it.

There is only one choice this year...continue with our present course of electing people who are destroying America,

or

Voting for Change.

I choose change. It is purely as simple as that, to believe otherwise, in my opinion is a total lack of love and respect for America and what our forefathers intended.

Obama, the ONLY choice.

and I am DAMN proud to push one candidate over the other!
