heyy! do you know what the show is? You could go look for it in the library and read it ahead of time so that you know exactly what's happening at the point they make you read from :). You could also just practice opening plays and doing cold readings from them. If its a bunch of one acts and you know the titles just do the whole google thing and figure out what you need to know! Hope I helped :), if you need any other adivce just PM me I love to help :)

Try and go get the play(s) that you are auditioning for and read through the whole thing. If it's a monologue audition, break it up and figure out what you are trying to say at each point and make it truthful. If it's a scene (cold reading) then have some idea as to how the character would be but don't get set in anything becaus your scene partner might throw something completely different at you. In a cold reading, I would highly suggest really listening to what the other person is saying and making sure your response is appropriate to theirs (don't anticipate what's coming next).
And most of all, as my old drama teacher used to say, make a BIG, BOLD choice. Don't be afraid to go for something. If you make a mistake, make it hard. Make a choice about the character and stick with it until the end. Even if it's not the right choice about that specific character, it may be exactly what they were looking for for another character. You never know so just go out there and give it your all.
Hope I helped!
