problems ever with AOL buddy list/IMs?
#0problems ever with AOL buddy list/IMs?
Posted: 6/9/06 at 11:28amOne screen name will not pop up the buddy list, or send IMs. Yet all others work. I get the gray AOL prompt. I've done the refreshing ot the AOL adapter, the usual things they tell you. Anyone ever have this problem? Any ideas?

Posted: 6/10/06 at 9:26amResearching on line, I found boards where this happened to some folks back in 04, 05,when AOL upgraded and seemingly overwrote some screennames (teen settings, like "Young Teen" etc are updated, with new deals like "Red" etc.) If anyone has any experience with this, I'd be very grateful. AOL is very mum, and won't even respond to questions about possible sabotage by hackers.

I suspect this may be an entirely different problem, but since there are similarities, I'll rant...
My entire buddy list keeps disappearing for 5-10 minute interverals and then reappearing. While it is gone I have no im features, but am still connected to the internet and can browse websites. I have of course, done nothing to remedy this, except rant though, so really the point of this post is, I feel your pain?
Unless anyone knows how to fix it!

My buddy list once reverted to a former version of itself. All the people I added in the last 6 months were no longer there.
Though I've never done this - one thing you can do is save and load buddy lists (at least on AIM). you might try saving it, so if you have a problem in the future, you can reload it.
