Hi everyone!I am from Russia,I am 21.I would like to ask your advice.I would like to make actress career in UK,or in USA.
In Russia we have 5 years program for musical theater. Here I saw that in UK and USA there are many short programs. Is it enough for successful work in theater?(Of course,if person can sing ,dance, perfom and talented in general).I studied at drama school for a year(but I have no diploma, here we can get certificate or diploma only after 4 years in official drama school). Now I am thinking:should I start 5 years program in Russia,or may be to go study abroad?I speak English as a native speaker,my secondary school lessons were in English language(but in Russia)What about international students in your drama schools?

no school can give you the experience or training like the stage can. personally, i say dont go to the 5 year school in russia, or the schools here in the states, either. I say pack up and go where you want to be, get settled and audition audition audition. =)

Thanks for your reply!I agree with you.In Russia impossible to go to audition if you don't have this 4-5 year degree.I did not know that in USA is possible to go to auditions without actors degree.

It's very important to go to school for drama programs. I'm currently working on a BFA in theatre and Im leqarning invaluable information about acting, etc that you cant learn by just doing it. It doesn't matter how talented you are, you need training. Then audition for shows while you're going to school.
