random board shorts question

Now that summer is approaching, I'm thinking about buying a pair of board shirts (pictured) instead of the traditional swim trunks I'm used to. Now is it better to wear normal underwear under them, like many people in my area do, or go totally comando? Which option is more...uhhh...normal/comfortable?

i wish i could answer, but i am not male and do not wear shorts as such. i will ask my friends though.

My sons both claim cotton boxers are the best under them during the summer because of the sweat factor.

please tell me that this is a joke as being a college student you should, by now, be able to select your own underwear without help
