I was wondering if Adam's CD is any good...
Does he have two? For some reason I was thinking that, but I could be mistaken.
Is it worth getting??

He has Civilian (released in 2004) and Model Prisoner (released in 2000). I enjoy Civilian more; I think it's a more cohesive effort and there are less "skippable" songs. They're both generally comprised of mellow rock.
He's set to record his next album next summer, and it looks to be an album that will show off his voice properly, provided that the producers don't f*ck it over. While I enjoy both of his albums on the whole, I really wish that they were less overproduced.

Do it!
And keep an eye on his MySpace page. He said that he's thinking of recording a couple of the new songs to post on there before the new album is released. Not that it's entirely hard to find recordings of these songs anyway.

Posted: 11/25/06 at 11:06pmListening to those songs now after not having heard them for a while makes it so apparent to me how much he shines live. I obviously still recommend his albums, but I cannot emphasize enough the need to see him perform live to fully appreciate his talent. The recorded songs completely pale in comparison to what I heard live - although they make a nice substitute, I suppose.

Posted: 11/25/06 at 11:26pmI enjoy both of the CD's. I agree with the above poster that seeing him live is the only way to see how truely talented he is.

Even though I agree that some songs on Civilian are overproduced and I much rather hear them stripped down and live, I too prefer it to Model Prisoner. It's one of the only albums that I can listen to all the way through. I feel like Model Prisoner is much more relaxed as a whole in comparison to Civilian.
If you're looking to get them for Christmas, I'd reccommend ordering them online through Sh-k-boom, because in my experience, they haven't been easy to find in stores.

They're both excellent - he has obvious songwriting talent as well as vocal abilities to recommend him. While the overproduction of Civilian is annoying because it muffles the vocals, it's still a very tight album. Luckily he said for the new album he's returning to more of the stripped-down format of Model Prisoner.
And Siamese Dream's very right. Nothing like hearing the songs live.
