I don't know PJ. I think you're beating on a deflating drum with this issue. I just don't think that phone record collection is something that is a big issue. The problem is the select few such as yourself and some congressional dems wo desperately want it to be bigger than it is.

I think this has legs, CK, and I don't think that poll has much depth. It's an instant poll that represents the knee-jerk reaction that anything the government does in wartime is for our own good.

But as legal experts and newspaper editorials weigh in overwhelmingly saying that these actions are illegal and unwarranted, the tide may very well change to reflect the 29%-and-falling approval rating.

In this case, as with ALL Things this administration is doing, I'm less concerned about whether or not other Americans find it acceptable and whether it's an erosion of our rights of freedom and privacy and whether or not it's LEGAL - none of which they've proved.

My Republican sources say that Rove was on the phone all day yesterday engaged in "pushback" against USA Today.

He was able to get ABC to do this quick poll with carefully worded questions so that it would seem like Americans didn't care.

This is how Rove works, and why so many of us can't wait until the indictment castrates him.

Why is it a big deal if the government looks for patterns in calls? They can't use anything they get in a criminal (non-terrorist) case, so who really gives a horses patootie? What freedoms are they taking away from you?
