Will: They don't give out awards for helping people be gay... unless you count the Tonys.

I was just thinking about Daisy Egan and 'The Secret Garden'! Isn't it about time for this show to be revived?
I know that she's the youngest Tony winner - were there other child winners?

She has done numerous broadway and regional shows, and while she has never been as famous as she was during Annie, she's still very well known. The term "comeback" is used for someone who had once been very famous (a celebrity), faded out of the spotlight, and suddenly makes a big splash. She didn't do any of the above.

She's not the youngest. That was the kid who played Patrick in "Mame."
She's the youngest female winner.
EDIT: Frankie Michaels! I forgot his name. He's the youngest ever.

geez, i never meant to offend anyone by the term "comeback". Relax, Heather. Search the Message Boards for the last time McArdle was a discussion topic here. Now she's got two concurrently. It was just a remark, not a judgement.
Eagan has done LES MIZ on B'way (just like McArdle), THE DEAD, and many regional roles too. i actually like McArdle a lot, at least as a singer. i even saw her do GYPSY down here near Houston, and she was pretty good. But it was also not the type of production that signalled "Broadway (or even regional) star."
i know her to have a new-ish agent, and perhaps she is just knocking on more doors and getting better work. Or it's being publicized more. Who i'd really like to hear sing is her daughter! very curious about that.

Posted: 9/23/08 at 7:53pmI saw Daisy Egan on a show called "The It Factor". The show followed actors trying to make it. It featured how difficult it was for her to make it after Secret Garden. Personally, I hope she finds a way to return to the stage. She is very talented!

Yea, Eagen did Les Miz before she did Secret Garden (unless she was a 14 year old Young Cosette)...and hasn't been back since...

Um, there are other stages besides Broadway. We saw Daisy in a production not long ago here in SoCal, and she was wonderful. And a working actress. Not on Broadway. Go figure.
