i'm not opposed to the use of force when we're up against some deranged zealot(s). i even accept your neocon notion of "collateral damage".
but the problem is that war is no longer popular with Americans. we've seen a democratically elected President of Iran deposed when he outlived his utitilty to the west, mainly what would be British Petroleum.
we've seen a dictator propped up in Iraq, Saddam Hussein, only to be taken out of play when he outlived his utility to the west.
by now you should be pickin up a pattern.
not even Hollywood could pitch the Iran war call to the American public at this point. we've moved beyond demogogery and boogey wom(en).
i'll be brutally honest with you. racism notwithstanding, if Ron Paul would run as an independent in the general election with Ret General Wesley Clark or Colin Powell on the ticket, i'd climb on board faster than a crack whore at the point. Powell would never take another cut in pay though.
