"Kiss Me, Kate".
I need to kick some major butt at auditions so I can play Lois/Bianca.
Its between me and one other girl - who probably has an advantage because our director loves her.
Any advice?

Belt the $h!t out of "My Heart Belongs to Daddy"
KM,K is my all-time favorite show, and I envy anyone who even sweeps the floors for a production of it.
PS: Thank you for using the comma in the title.

I would be SO happy if we could use other songs for our auditions - but I think the girls auditioning for Lois/Bianca have to sing "Always True to You".
So hopefully I can own that song.
ps. haha, no problem. Its a pet-peeve of mine, as well.

Psyche out the other girl by telling her you "accidentally" slept with the director and he owes you one.
Just kidding.
Listen to every version of the song you can find, and then forget them and make it your own.
ironicly we're donig kiss me kate too!!! What would be a good song to sing from the show for auditions! See we have to select pieces that they have from the show and they break them up as the leads and just general! I'm a baritone i can sing a low F to a high G what would be a good song any ideas?

Go for the lead role of Fred/Petruchio and sing "Where is the Life that Late I Led".

ahhh! i'm obsessed with this show... i just play Lilli/Katharine this summer! :)
have fun! sorry i couldn't offer good advice. i didn't audition with a song similar to KMK, rather just showed off my range with "The Money Tree"... then at callbacks did KMK stuff (also Lois/Bianca's).
I knew the theater only cared about vocal ability and such and not about singing something to do with the score of the show.
good luck! :)
