the MONK series finale

i don't know if anyone else here watches this show, but it's been my friday night go-to show for years. i'm sad it's ending, but i kind of saw it coming after the actor who played dr. kruger died last season. i'm also loving all the guest stars for the last season

what do you think is going to happen? will monk solve trudy's murder? was dale the whale behind it the whole time? how did he know that trudy's last words were "bread and butter"? and what about that guy with 6 fingers? will monk ever get that shirt back that sharona brought to the dry cleaners all those years ago and never picked up (shirt #4)?

i'm a little upset because the previews for the final episode are making it look like monk is killed. i really hope that's not how it ends.

I haven't watched Monk in ages, but it seems like way too light-hearted a show to end by killing off the main character. For a program whose mood usually doesn't dip below "bittersweet" or "poignant", that's a bit much, no?

in the latest episode (which is the second to last one in the series) someone decides he's getting too close to solving trudy's murder. now, in preveiws, we see him sitting in a hospital emergency room and a doctor says something along the lines of "someone is trying to kill you, and this time they may have succeded" and then we see trudy (as a ghost or a vision) saying "it's almost time, adrian" and then something is said on the preveiw about how before he can solve her murder, he has to solve his own, and then something about if they will be together forever or not.

so yeah, they're trying to hint towards death. will it actually happen? i dont know, i just know it would piss me off if 8 seasons of my favorite show ended in the death of the main charecter and he never solved trudy's murder.

and if someone is trying to kill him, it would not be the first time someone attempted to kill him in the series.

I only watch it in reruns - but I think it would be fitting to the show if he solves her murder as he dies and ends up with her. It almost seems like it's the only way he can find comfort.

However - they might also lead you to believe he's going to die all the way until the last moment, after he talks to Trudy, and she says he needs to come back and continue solving crimes.

I think Monk and Natalie will end up together .... he let her HUG him... that was surprising! To me they seem to be gravitating towards each other in the emotional way... am I the only who thinks that way ... but anyway, I am sorry the show is ending ..
nothings lasts forever ... and that show had a good run.... GOOD LUCK MONK !

He'll solve the mystery, and we are all going to be SHOCKED as to the culprit. And I doubt the character will be killed off---they will leave the door open for occasional MFTVM.

How about he meets a re incarnated Trudy ?(again).After all it was her soul he truly loved.

One of my friends thinks the culprit will be Stottlemeyer or another regular---that would kill the dvd sales!
