It's not like any other president - especially the last one - didn't misunpronounce words

Posted: 3/24/09 at 10:33ami've lestened to y'all for five years hold up every single thing that george bush did as evidence of his unfitness to even draw breath. the only diffrerence is that there was dozens of you starting the threads. now it's just me. i made the argument at the time that if you were under a mocroscope 24/7 that you might make some faux pas as well. but i was laughed at and scorned and ridiculed. so deal with it. your president will be subjected to as much scrutiny as mine was. seems silly? yeah, i thought so too at the time, but since no one thought there was anything wrong with posting a thread about every single thing bush ever did that could be remotely construed as stupid, i am sure that there can be nothing wrong with the exact same thing being done for president obama.

Posted: 3/24/09 at 10:39amThe difference is that plenty of Democrats find fault in Obama. You keep posting these threads as a tit for tat kind of thing, even though very few democrats on this board blindly agree and support every single thing he does or utterance he makes, so it really just makes it look like you don't really care about any of it, except for the fact that your side didn't win.

i'm merely subjecting your president to the same scrutiny that mine received. don't like it? don't read the threads.

I never said I didn't like it. I was just pointing out the weird disconnect between the papa of yore and the papa now. I do plenty of scrutiny of "my" president, much to the dismay of your liberal equivalents on here.

Nope, your not. Bush earned the scrutiny. Many of us gave him a fresh start after 9/11. He earned our lack of respect all over again. And generally, we focused on his policies and his disregard for the little thing called the constitution. "Bushism" became just a collection of funny things he said out of context or with improper word usage. But most of us giggled or raised an eyebrow, but found plenty of other substantive issues to complain about.
But, have fun. This gives you some odd sense of pleasure. And, it may also make the larger flubs by Obama seem less significant. So, keep on pointing out the trivial.

Can't agree with that, YWIW. It might apply to you, but there was plenty of ridiculousness posted about Bush - I know, as I posted quite a bit of it myself.

"the greatest communicator in history cannot pronounce the word orion"
Both pronunciations are correct depending upon the context. There is a city here pronounced OAR-ee-on and its local businesses use that pronunciation. I'm sure Obama is more than aware of GM's Lake Orion (OAR-ee-on) plant (where McCain's campaign visit was met with chants of "Obama, Obama").

"but i was laughed at and scorned and ridiculed"
really Papa? Because I could swear you were ridiculing and laughing at others more than anyone - and always do regardless of topic politics or otherwise LOL.
Hey - you know what - if THESE are the only/type of complaints you can muster about Obama, so be it.

People who live in houses made out of vitrol and nastiness shouldn't...uh...throw stones at other houses (I just mixed about 6 metaphors)
And don't whine about having no other Democrats. You always have Mr Roxy on your side, although he's sorta the Andy Rooney to your Steve Kroft.
