I'm a Catholic who's taking a break before preparing our Christmas dinner.
Merry Christmas to everyone--even my Jewish friends who are having Chinese food for dinner.
Peace on Earth. Shalom to all!

I say everyone should celebrate chrismas - at least the tree/present giving part. Its lost almost all religious value to it and is commerical. Heck, I'm catholic and I didn't go to church today/last night. woot! Presents!

I find that sentiment rather offensive, TGIF, but in the spirit of things I'll overlook it.
I apologize. I truly meant no offense. Alot of my friends are Jewish and other religions, but we all still exchange presents and have such a great time. Reading my post it did come out wrong. Its just such a fun time of year I want everyone to take part - I am not saying the religious aspect of it, of course, for those who don't have the same beliefs. Like I said in my previous post, I really wouldn't consider myself catholic (at least not a good one :) ). I don't attend mass and disagree with alot the church has to say, but again I am sorry if what I said offened anyone.

ya, plum said exactly what i wanted to say...
or from the other side - chanukah is EIGHT days of presents so EVERYONE should celebrate it!
::rolls eyes::
Oh, I always wanted to celebrate Chanukah! I was fascinated by it, 8 days of present giving! How exciting. (Ok, I know I am coming off very materialistic right now - I am really not like that). But as a kid when all of our presents were given on one day, I thought that people who celebrated Chanukah got that amount everyday for eight days and was so jealous.
-- again I didn't mean that people should all celebrate christmas per say, but have fun in the spirit of giving gift! (Whether that count as christmas, chanukah or other holidays)

well, i have fun during Chanukah....
and this time of year makes me depressed - as if it is not OK to be Jewish - and if you don't celebrate chirstmas then you should hide under a rock for now.
And a lot is two words
I am sorry if I added to that. And I do admit that it does bother me that when I am out from the day after thanksgiving until December 25th all I hear is christmas carols.
Man I feel like such an ass.
Happy happy!
I need to get ready.
